How to use Social Share Preview Simulator
A social preview can crop a carefully designed image or truncate copy after a platform update. This simulator gives one comparison workspace for common large-card and compact-card layouts so you can inspect hierarchy and safe areas before publishing metadata.
Practical workflow
- Choose the exact image you plan to expose through og:image and enter realistic title, description, and site-name text.
- Compare large and compact cards. Keep critical text and faces away from the outer edge because clients can crop differently.
- Publish the metadata, then use each platformβs official debugger or a private test post to confirm the fetched result and cache.
Accuracy and limitations
The previews are approximations, not screenshots from each platform. Clients can change layout, crop rules, typography, caching, and whether a description appears. A successful local preview does not confirm that a crawler can access the public image URL.
Privacy and data handling
